Following Cameron Jordan’s contract was extended by the New Orleans Saints last week, another guy in line for a payday is receiver Michael Thomas.

General manager Mickey Loomis told Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio recently that the Saints have experienced”some conversations” about a new contract to its star receiver but wouldn’t go into detail.
“We’ve had some discussions, and I enjoy keeping that close to the vest until there is something to report, but look, we love what Mike’s done for us,” Loomis said. “He is a wonderful player, among the very best in his position in the league, and hopefully we can keep him a Saint for quite a while too.”
Goal being received by the Saints go-to, Thomas has become one of the most consistent threats in the total NFL, compiling a least along with 1,000-plus yards 90 catches all his few seasons. As Drew Brees’ security blanket, the wideout is coming off a 125-catch, 1,405-yard season.
A second-round choice in 2016, Thomas enters the last period of his rookie contract, place to make $1.148 million — peanuts in comparison to his worth. There is very little doubt the Saints would like to keep their No. 1 goal happy and paid. If it doesn’t occur in the upcoming few months the franchise tag seems probable for the star receiver.
