Judd Trump’s 15-match winning streak in position events was ended by fellow Englishman Joe Perry.
The world number one from Bristol dropped 5-2 in the last-16 of the Evergrande China Championship.
Trump, 30, had not dropped winning his first World Championship in the International Championship and May in China in August.
“This is the guy you do not wish to play at the moment. I am thrilled to emerge,” said Perry.
“I played with him Daqing and he left the floor with me, so it turned out to be a daunting possibility.”
Trump had beaten world number 17 Perry 6-2 in exactly the exact identical stage of the International Championship of the month and’d fallen only 1 frame in his three earlier matches at this event.
However, Perry won four frames in a row in 2-1 down to advance.
