Astros vs. Athletics MLB Pick – August 15th

The Houston Astros head after a rocky weekend against the White Sox in Chicago to the west Shore.

They even won the openerbut faltered at the following two games. They lost a 4-1 decision then got into a high-scoring shootout in a 13-9 closing. The second game was an uncharacteristic loss for the Astros, as their throwing obtained throttled for 13 runs yesterday afternoon.
Wade Miley got out of forms early and lasted only 3.1 innings before the bullpen took over and took an even worse beating. Ryan Pressly took the largest loss, as he was exploited for 4 earned runs in only an inning of work. Despite that rough string, the Astros have been in good shape having a 9.5-game lead in the AL West.
The Astros can manage to take a hit in August and still cruise into the postseason with the AL West crown . However, they’re still competing with the Yankees for seeding. The Yankees are now a couple of games up on the Astros, thus there is work left to do for Houston in this regard. There is also the Dodgers who would have homefield advantage on them when they were to meet in the World Series.
The most important aim is under wraps to the Astros, however. They won’t need to play at the Wild Card Game, although the Athletics do not know whether they will be playing any postseason game. Every game grows more significant than the preceding from now on out.
Mike Fiers, who has been the most underrated pitcher in the majors this year, will be tasked with leading the Athletics to a win over the Astros on Thursday. Unexpectedly, Aaron Sanchez will soon be making his third start as a member of the Astros tonight. Head below to our complimentary Astros vs. Athletics choice.

Aaron Sanchez was thrown into a life preserver if the Astros called the Blue Jays and obtained about the availability of him. Sanchez acquired a trade to an aggressive team and a team who has been known for getting the maximum out of the pitchers. Even Justin Verlander has appeared better in Houston and this can be after pitching no-hitters plus a Cy Young in Detroit. JV said he learned things he never knew before and it’s appeared to provide help.
At Sanchez’s brief time in Houston so far, he’s been great with a 0.82 ERA in two trips. Is it the Astros’ impact or he’s just finally finding his groove? It might be a little of both. Sanchez did set up a good outing for the Blue Jays from the Indians two starts before going to Houston. Overall on the season, Sanchez moves with a 5.60 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. I really don’t believe he was as poor as he seemed in Toronto to nearly all the year, however I also don’t believe he is as good as we’ve seen in Houston the last two games.
Sanchez has been flying on the street in 2019, as he retains an ERA of both 6.41 along with 1.79 WHIP in 60.1 innings. The Athletics are hitting on .269 together with 6 runs performed on Sanchez at 52 at-bats. The key for Oakland in this match, though, will be the play of Mike Fiers. Everybody was sleeping this year, but he has been generating in their rotation.
Fiers was particularly sharp in the home, where he has boasted an ERA of 2.54 and 1.03 WHIP in 78 innings. Note that at ten of the prior eleven excursions, Fiers has enabled two or less runs. He has not given up more than 3 runs in a start since return on April 20th against the Blue Jays. The’Stros are hitting just .230 against Fiers in 122 at-bats. The oddsmakers have been sleeping Fiers this year too. As a home underdog, Fiers is obviously looking.
